Back on Track... again?
Didn't journal over the weekend. Got no enthusiasm.
Today already wheaties (5), half a banana (1), and salami (1)... and it's not even eight in the morning.
Just kind of depressed. Yesterday was mom's birthday. The doc thinks I have sleep apnea. And quite frankly I'm having troubles giving have a rip about anything (including the house reconstruction). All I want to do is lie down and eat (not at the same time, but you get the picture).
popcorn snack (mmmm cheddar... bad Bill, bad Bill)... (3)
Lunch: veg soup (1), salami (1), turkey (2)... so far 14 for the day...
Wendy's: southwest taco salad (no dressing): 9... plus the jr. bacon cheeseburger... bad (8) (and some candy for dessert... 2)
Daily total: 33... very bad. but at least I'm journaling again.
And Peyton's pulling for me. So I've got that goin' for me... which is nice.

Surprise!
Okay, I'm checking in too. I'm still working at it too. I've recognized that I really don't like the lettuce in salad, so I've pretty much cut it out and am making salads with cucumber as the base for lunch at school. Sometimes I add spinach, but almost always include radish, red pepper, and small (cherry, strawberry, or grape) tomatoes. I like it best if I can add half an avocado. I like that it fills me, and most times I don't ned anything else for lunch. Unfortunately, I still want something to eat afterschool, whether or not I'm hungry.
The good news is I have lost since the beginning and am maintaining about 144. Still not what I want, but better. I will be happier when my pants aren't so tight--espcially my jeans.
Today we are going out to breakfast at IHOP before Kyle's game--his request last night. I will have dinner with my out-of-town famiy at City Buffet (could be dangerous, or unappealing...). I will try to have a light snack for lunch. Our "cupboard" (refrigerator) is bare, so we will stock it up once again with good goodies.
Joni and Bill, I respect how well you can journal regularly.
Mary, how are you?

I'm still here...
It has been a while and I have had my ups and downs, but I will not give up. Over the last couple os weeks I have consistenetly stayed about 3 pounds lower than when we started and for me that is a victory since every semester since I started at CSUCI I have gained, some more than others. Now that my classes are coming to an end I will try to write more consistently again too, it really does help.
So far today...
applesauce~1
sandwich~3
veg & dip~1
Granola bar~2
Tonight...BJ's...At least the day was not bad.

OK, so it's two weeks since I journaled... and two and a half since I weighed myself. Both bad: 223 again. Feel like I've just blown the better part of two months: I'm only 3 pounds less than when we started this on August 20.
Oh, well.
Let us begin again (could this help the sleep apnea the doc thinks I have???):
Wheaties (5)

Monday...again!
Well it's been almost a week, but I'm still at it. Last week was not as good as I set out for it to be, but things could always be worse. I have come to a realization that while I might really want to lose, if I just maintain for the next 4-6 weeks that will be ok too. I would love to tae bo more, but walking is more realistic for me right now (dogs..2 birds/one stone). My eating was ok today, but not great...
I had NF plain yogurt w/spiced apples (NS) and a little museli~about 4pt.
I had a BBQ chick salad from the habit for lunch w/o dressing, but I got fries~about 12-15pts
Now Jason wants to take me to dinner to celebrate finally getting my dipoma in the mail, we are going to tacos mi pueblo. I hope to do ok, but I'm not feeling great, so I'm in the mood for some comfort food. But no cheese, so that really helps w/ mexican food.
I have a lot due W, Th, F, so I just have to remember that the food will not make it all better, and keep healthy muchies around.
I also need to track on here more..that and walking are my goals for this week.

It was a bad weekend!
I didn't drink too much, but I can't count how many brownies I had. After all this I am just maintaining, which is better than nothing. I'm still seeing results in my clothes, so something is working. Yesterday was better, but breakfast was high; toast w/ butter(too hard w/o), an egg and 2 chicken breakfast sausage-8pts.
lunch-sandwich-3, salad-1, iced soy latte-4
Dinner-stuffed chicken breast-5, brown rice-2, and corn-1
after dinner-100cal cookies-2, glass of soy milk-1
even later-fruit-1, 100cal snack pack-2
and even later-1 light beer-2
total=32, give or take
I did walk 30 min too, but it's still too high.
Tonight(Tue) I will make stir fry, and I'll snack less.

New York... reboot
OK, so this weekend was bad, really bad... between Jason's birthday party and self-pity drinking over my Bruins ASSwhooping at the hands of the Utes (the Utes! ... uh, I'm starting to come around to the opinion that Dorrell must go) and chips and tritip (and more drinks... note to self... don't drink that heavily again the day before you fly across the country)... and yesterday's attempts to settle my stomach with carbs and proteins... to this morning's already cheating consuming of a breakfast danish... this has been bad.
On the plus side, I've got a kitchen in the corporate apts... and I've already purchased veggies to cook... we'll see if that can pull things back into balance.

Wild day ahead: morning therapy, afternoon scoping out of another high school campus for Kyle's freshman year, tonight Jack's Back to School night (and another BTS night at a different high school)... yep, a little hectic (luckily, Joni's dropping Kyle off at H2Opolo practice [and we're hoping his coach will be able to bring him home])...

Tuesday
Got up and walked the dogs, first Mimi and then Ginger, around the block. They are a lot easier to manage one @ a time. Then I had my morning glass of soy milk so I could take my morning motrin...teeth do cost me a few pts a day as well as slow my eating.
Count so far...walked 20 min and drank 2pts.
Turns out the light soy milk I found is only 1pt/cup, YEAH!
Oatmeal-2, soy milk-1, apple sauce-1, squash soup-2...6pts so far and it's almost noon. Going to try dry bread with the soup, I think I'll be able to eat it. That makes 7.

Dinner...ceviche w/ 2 whole wheat 1pt tortillas-3. Sherbet-5
Almost bed time. Going to have a glass of wine and end the day @ 22 pts...Yeah Me!

Teeth helping how I eat.
I am eating a lot slower and there are few snacks I can eat right now. There are also a lot less veggies I can eat becasue I do not enjoy them mashed. This weekend was ok, but not great. I did go for a hike, but it was just medium activity at most. No real heart racing. But it was a fun weekend and it was nice to get away.
Food today was good until dinner when I had 2 tamales and some black beans. 1 tamale would have been enough, but I had already heated both and continued eating just because it was there. I'm still stuffed and it's been 3 hours since I finished. It's just hard to feel satisfied with soft foods. I really crave the crunch.
Plan for the week...exercise at least 2 days and track my food better and buy some V8..I need some veggies and I only like them crisp, so it's gonna have to be V8 for now.

This week was ok
I could have been better, but I am making better chioces most of the time and that is all I could get myself to do. My plan for next week is to get back into a better exercise routine and to track my points more closely.
This weekend should not be so bad because I am having 3 teeth pulled this morning and so I don't think I'll be eating too much. I can't have the traditional dairy bbased soft foods...ice cream, pudding...that are so full of sugar and fat, so that will be good. I did buy some veg soups and refried black beans, and my non fat yogurt and non chunky applesauce for this week. I'm trying to make sure thier is plenty of protein to keep me satisfied. I will have teeth to cover the holes, but I can only imagine that I will be sore, so I figure it will be soft foods for at least a few days. Also, we are going to the ranch this weekend. I am hoping to do some hiking with my kids. The one challenge will be the cakes I am bringing for the birthday celebrations.
Despite the fact that I have stayed stagnant this week, I feel good.

I Feel Good
I walked tonight and I walked Monday morning. It feels good, a bit invigorating. Before I left for my walk tonight, I was ready for sleep, but I feel good now, more awake. I have been eating well this week, having decided that since I don't really like the lettuce in salads, I could just skip the lettuce. I've been making cucumber, red pepper, radish, cherry tomato, avocado, sunflower seed salads for lunch. Don't need no dressing, don't need no lettuce. And I am surprised that I feel full after I eat this salad. I have been putting a little spinach and basil in, too. Cool.
I am also happy to report that this morning, I broke the 145 plane and weighed in at 144.8. Finally, a sense of some success. By my loose calcualtion, I have two days of 20 points--kind of unheard of for me. I am grateful for those 2pt. Hershey's snacks--I get my chocolate and it feels good. I have also been having either a hard-boiled egg or Activa cheese snack at school. I hope tomorrow morning looks good, too.
I still can't figure out why at school as soon as the kids leave I want to stuff my face. Is it because I know there are so many goodies there? Should I allow no goodies in my room? Currently, I have no oreos, but right now, I am not even inerested.
I hate to admit that when I try to "be good" and see no change, I figure, what the *&%$. So I feel positive and successful right now.
This weekend--Football at the Rose Bowl--will be challenging. We're talking about grilling salmon (good), but there is Kettle Corn (bad) and chips and, probably, margaritas.
Anyway, I feel good. Right now.

I'm not giving up!
It's hard, as I knew it would be..but I am not giving up, not this time. I'm still bad at tracking my daily points, but I am drinking more water and choosing more fruits and veggies for snacks. Exercise was going good but I have not done so much this week. I plan to Tae Bo again today becasue my morning class is an online assignment, so I don't have to go to my other class until 1.
Food this week has been ok. I ate less than half my dinner @ El Torito Mon night, but I did have quite a few chips...Then my day was good Tue until we ended up @ Panda for dinner (Velma is doing better), but again I did not finish my plate...Yesterday I finally got a chance to make dinner again...grilled pork chops I had marinated, roasted potatoes, and green beans...I was good and only about 7pts. Late last night was good too, when I wanted a snack I had a bowl of my high fiber cereal and soy milk.
I will get back down, it will be slower this timw, but I will get there.

Skipping Sunday and Monday
fuggetaboutit... not even going to be close (today started with pancakes and syrup and I had a burrito for lunch)... especially after yesterday's burger for lunch and pizza for dinner...
Tailgating is BAD!
I have to change the way I tailgate or it will be a set back for me every time I do it! The rest of the week was ok...but not much exercise. I did not eat as bad as I could have on Sat, but that was due to extreme heat, not my execution of a good plan. I also did not exercise like I wanted to, or get my school stuff organized, so now I am more stressed and will likely battle the urge to feed the stress all weekend. It was just too hot to do much. I did read some of my book for my Literacy class, and I'll have tomorrow morning to do a lot. Today has started of bad...no exercise and Uncle Herb's for breakfast. The good thing is I only ate half the potatoes, ham, and panckaes, so my portions are less. Also, I'm so full I don't think I'll eat much before dinner, maybe some fruit. I hope we can go for a walk tonight when it cools off. Lisa said something about chicken cutlets for dinner and I have fruit and salad, so that won't be so bad. I'll make something good for dinner tomorrow. I can rebound, I just have to stick with my reslove and keep working so I can concentrate on school tomorrow until I get Isabelle.
Estimated points total for first tailgate of the season...50!?

Football
Wheaties and papaya (5+1).
Today could be a very dangerous day... it's the opening day of football season. Couch, snacks, and bad snacks at that.

A Feeble Attempt
I just don't know what to say. I have been pretty good and I figure I will step on the scale tomorrow. Three days of school in, and I still feel this massive urge to munch munch munch after school. I've been trying the yogurt for breakfast, but without the latte, my tummy was grumbling at 9:30 recess. I snacked on a cheese slice and that held me well until lunch of a salad. This was yesterday and the day before. Today I snacked on almonds and the whole bag was too much for one sitting--this is good! One dinner we had this week was drumsticks--I love that they're 2 points, but Bill hates the way they are gristly.
Jack's calling...off I go.

Progress... slow but sure

3 Days and counting
End of the third day of school and my 4th day of being really good. But... I now have my first glass of win in my hands since Saturday and I'm going to a quilt retreat this weekend where they feed you and many ladies bring high fat munchies. I'll just have to keep very busy. My goal is to just maintain for the next five days. I've been working out and doing all the right stuff but not dropping an ounce so far. I think my body is in shock and my mind is drained. 170 or so new teenage faces making my mind spin, hence the wine. I'll let you know how I do.
Why plan!?
i had such good intentions of exercising this morning after getting the kids off to school, then Thomas woke up with a puffy eye and we were off to the pediatrician instead. I planned a good, light dinner yesterday then Jason got cash from Gary and felt like celebrating the first day of school and we ended up at Red Lobster, Yum! I didn't want to scrimp since we only go there 2 or 3 times a year, so I had 3 types of fried shrimp, two biscuits and cesar salad (which had too much dressing)...I didn't finish the shrimp however, bringing 2/3 home (huge serving!), and I didn't have dessert or a drink, just water, so I saved calories there. Up to dinner I had eaten 11pts, with two fruit servings, so I was doing ok. I also took a walk to the beach yesterday morning.
Ok, so today...no exercise but the food has been ok. Non fat yogurt with applesauce for breakfast(4), it was a large serving...then a salad for lunch with some leftover popcorn shrimp on it...yummy and I'll have to look up the pts later, but only maybe 10 little shrimp. I packed snacks to get through my class this afternoon, and I'm making the light dinner had planned for yesterday tonight, so if I can get a walk in tonight I can get back on track.

Waterlogged Fears
OK, Lisa and the boys are off to school, and while yesterday was well-managed, point-wise, I fear being alone in the condo may make for more grazing. (it's already started: I ate the leftover toast that was left on the table after the big "first day of school" breakfast this morning)... I've got to combat that with more water (like I did yesterday: at least three--possibly four--large 32 oz weight watchers mugs).
Anyway... the usual Wheaties breakfast (5), plus bite/lick/taste off Jack's plate (1), and some of that super-fiber wheat toast (1; and I think I getting the results of that... IF you know what I mean). Breakfast total: 7
------------------------
bite/lick/taste (1), then lunch: zucchini (0), bean sprouts (0), lite turkey (2), and some sunflower seeds (1)... three point lunch... that works
------------------------
candy snack (1) and light popcorn (1) for afternoon snack... then dinner: two chicken drumsticks (4 total), plus a sautee of last night's leftover potatoes and zucchini and squash (2), and a yogurt for dessert (2)... for a daily total of 20... (so far) [on the way to pick up Kyle from practice, I succumbed to temptation: a beef stick (4)]

I survived my first day of classes!
I had veggie scramble this morning, 2pts...While at school I ate most of what I packed, 9pts, and I had a good dinner...salad and lasagna, 6pts. I also had some iced coffee with a little soy milk in it when I got home, maybe 1pt. I added 1/2 shot of kahlua to the second on, so 1 or 2 pts for that...20 pts or so. I worked out this morning and I still have more room for a snack later. I also used the 20min rule when I finished my portion because I really wanted more, and now I am satisfied. I have my doubts that the whole semester will be like this, but if I can lose a bit and not gain it back in the end then I will be doing good. I'd love to be 10 or 15 pounds lighter by next may and have my credential.
Week Two Begins
After this weekend, getting back to strict adherence is priority one: 224.6 pounds. [yes, I realize that this is a pound and a half down from last Monday, and yes, I know the downside to losing too much too quick... but jeez, I was at high 222 on Saturday...]
So we begin again with the Wheaties breakfast (5).
--------------------------
bite/lick/taste (1); 100 cal. Reese's snack (2)... then later: Pam-fried zucchini (0), bean sprouts (0), tofu (2), plus some lite salami (1) and light yogurt (2)... mid-day total: 8 points... looking good toward dinner (13 points, about 14 points left for the day)...
--------------------------
dinner rocked: grilled pork chops (4; I had part of Kyle's), grilled potatoes (5), and green beans (0)... dinner total: 9... daily total: 23... perfect (leaving a couple of points to play with after I bring Kyle back from water polo practice... if I so choose)

I'm back
So I took a fewdays off typing, but I was vigilant. I worked out Friday morning and ended up taking Velma for a nice long walk that night. Then I walked again Sunday morning, to the pier. Then this morning I kicked it up a level in Tae Bo...it was tough, I so wanted to quit...but I felt motivated to continue. Knowing I don't struggle alone really helps. My eating was more under control too. No drive thrus all week, more fruits and veggies again, and more water. I start school today, so I will test my new food containers and my will power not to go out to lunch. I am planning on packing a sandwich 3pts, a salad 1pt, carrots 0, and some yogurt with apple sauce 3pts, and a couple of 100 cal pack in case I really want sweet or salty. If I eat it all it's 11pts. I could, it just depends how hungry I am, and if I need to munch. I'm a volume eater, so this should work for me. I also need to remember to bring lots of water, and a propel powder pack in case I want some flavor.
This week begins the true test and I am glad I have others to keep me motivated.
I love Mondays...lets hope the motivation lasts!

Sunday
Slept in late after last night's late-night return. This morning had a few pancakes (7) and a couple of slices of papaya (less than a "serving": 0). Then I went for a pretty good ride (9 activity points). Going to have a little snack (maybe some no-point popcorn) to tide me over for Joe's Crab Shack tonight...
------------------------
"Linner"... was the disaster I could see coming (and I was being "good"): small cup of tortilla soup (4?), bbq shrimp (8), bbq chicken breast (3), veggies, and rice (5). Then I blow it eating some of Lisa's turtle sundae dessert (gotta be 6 at least). So a dinner total of 26, and a daily total of 33. Luckily I have activity points for the day, but it was still pretty bad.

Getting Serious
Today is the day I picked to really get back into it. Weighed in at a meeting yesterday and went shopping for new pants for school. The shopping was more motivational than the meeting. Nothing like those dressing room lights to illuminate the true facts. I could be depressed but I recall a similar feeling in 1999 when I began my loss of 50 pounds. Then I was trying to find something for back to school night and had to go to the "women's" section! This time I just had to buy one size larger so I guess that's some form of success... My challenge now is to wear these new pants for so little time that I give them away looking new. I'll keep you posted on that>

Saturday
Wheaties breakfast (5)... lunch and junk at water polo to follow... before my shower I weigh in: 223.4... still not too bad (but it will be after the weekend is done, I'm sure)...
----------------
ended up doing OK for the rest of the day: some sunflower seed kernels on the drive down to water polo (3), a fruit bowl at mid-day (mostly watermelon with some other melons: 1), a chilidog near dinner (8?), another fruit (this one had some pineapple: 2), and a chocolate cookie (3). Then candy and chips on the drive home (8); and a little salami once home (2)... daily total: 32... but it could have been a whole lot worse.

Friday (TGI?)
Basic Wheaties breakfast (5)... gotta keep an eye on all this since tonight we're having dinner with dad and tomorrow there's water championships in Long Beach (good luck finding low point stuff there), and Sunday is Grandma B's birthday bash at Joe's Crab Shack... ewwww, it could be an ugly weekend... (on the plus side, weight this morning after breakfast was 223 [gotta love the first few days getting back on the program... always good for a few quick pounds!])
-------------------------
lunch: a little leftover rice and salmon (2), plus a sandwich with a new high-fiber wheat bread (just 1 point), lite turkey (2), cheese (2), lite salami (1)... 8 points, but I'm stuffed and should be satisfied until dinner (Yolanda's)...
-------------------------
OK, so it's now Sat. AM... last night the points went all to shit: Yolanda's veggie plate: I'm figuring (between the rice and sauce) at least 7 points... plus 2 points for albondigas soup, and 2 more for chips (I really was vigilant on those)... but then we went to the Corey's and I had two of my rum drinks (I'm figuring 4 points apiece)... then when Lisa needed to go to Urgent Care for some really nasty and infected bug bites, I had some salami (1) before leaving to pick up the prescription... it took all the willpower I had not to hit a drive-thru on my way -- out of stress -- [full disclosure: I did pull into the parking lot, but the line was too long]... so full day total: 33... that's bad

Some Results
Finished off last night with some 0 point popcorn while watching TV (late eating, I know, is bad... but I've got ween myself off it... plus, this has got to be better than meat and cheese and my usual rum/simple syrup/lime concoction).
This morning began with my usual Wheaties breakfast (5). I plan to go for a ride later this morning... and the plan is for bbq salmon and rice and veggies tonight (so that should be good).
This morning the scale said 224.4... that looks good...
[as for Saturday's meeting... what time? Kyle and I are heading down to Los Alamitos for the Men's Junior World Water Polo Championships... yeah, there'll be light food there...]
-----------------------------
Went for a bike ride: 55 min... 9 activity points. Took a shower (after, without clothes, 222.8... apples and oranges), then had lunch: stir-fry with Pam--zucchini (0), bean sprouts (0), and tofu (2). I added some lite salami (1) and a slice of cheese (2), plus a piece of candy (1) for dessert. Six point lunch...
-----------------------------
A few pieces of candy for afternoon snack (3). A big dinner: rice (6), salmon (4), asparagus (0), broccoli salad (2), and bread (2) for a dinner total of 14. Daily total: 27... just about perfect (given the activity points)

Day 4
This is the longest I've stayed on track in a while. Before I forget...Mom and I are going to the meeting Sat morning, want to join?
So, yesterday finished off good with a healthy homemade dinner and just a couple of lite snacks. I ended the day @ 20pts. I still want to up my water more, but yesterday was better. I also met my fruit and veggie goal! It is getting easier. I need to find some exercise today though...couldn't drag myself out of bed early enough to go for a walk.

I'm So GLad!
that you set this up! It's been a wonderful summer but the beer... Enough said for now. I am so ready for a change.
Staying Busy
With so much to do at the house before next Monday I am keeping busy, but as I get tired my thoughts turn to food. I made it to lunch though...salad w/ a little leftover Steak and corn relish (thanks mom-in-law), 5pts and 100 cal cheezits for snack. That puts me @ about 10pts today. I made some sugar free jello with applesauce for snack sot hat should help later. I have a busy afternoon, so if I can just focus on water, I should make it to dinner just fine. Just need to keep resisting the oreos in the cabinet!
Trying to Resist Temptation
OK... working is keeping me busier today... this is good... not as many moments of temptation... Breakfast was the usual Wheaties (5)... with any luck, I can keep my nose to the grindstone and my mouth out of the fridge...
---------------
made it to lunch... walked the boys to Wendy's... Southwest Taco Salad (without the sour cream; but with a couple of Jack's fries: 10 points)... really full... hopefully, this will keep me satiated for the afternoon...

Feeling good!
Yesterday finished off good. We went to Chili's and I had the chicken tacos w/o sour cream or cheese (being lactose intolerant has it's benefits). I had a salad, dressing on the side, and I had hot tea. Went shopping with my mom, so no dessert. Came home and had one light beer. Daily total was around 25. Much better!
Today I got up and Tae Boed again. Didn't want to get up, but feel good now that I did it. I really miss walking so I need to figure that one out still. It will be so much better when Bill and Lisa are back next door, then we can walk together. After my workout I had a veggie and egg white scramble again. Yum! I have already had 2 glasses of water today. It's starting to feel good again...like it's all worth it. I'm also motivated by the cute pants my mom bought me last night that will look so much better after 5 pounds and some exercise.

Tuesday
Lunch today...small portion of leftover whole wheat pasta (yum, shreaded cardboard...I love it!) 3-4pts. I also had a small salad, 1pt for dressing. Add that to breakfast and I am still under 10 for today, yea!
Started...again!
How many times have I re-started this in 2007 alone!?!?! ok, so here it goes...I have not weighed in since last spring, but I will set-up my scale and post a morning weight tomorrow (too much coffee in my tummy right now). Last spring I was around 160. I'm 5'7", so that is only slightly high for me, but I am way too flabby and do not really belong at the very top of my range. Though I am still far from the 202 that I was when I joined WW back in 2000, I am not comfortable. I need to lose about 15 pounds again and tone. I know I can do this, but it's so easy to let life and bad habits get in the way.
Yesterday (8/20/07): Started the day with an invigorating Tae Bo work out. It felt really good, though I did want to stop after 15 or 20 minutes, but I didn't, I finished the whole thing! Had a veggie and egg white scramble for breakfast, only 1 or 2 pts, not bad. Ran errands and ended up getting In N Out for lunch...could have gotten Subway, but In N Out is cheaper! Old habits hit and I ordered my cheese burger animal style which I'm sure adds atleast 2 pts! I'll have too work on remembering hamburger with mustard and pickles..I'm sure I'll like it and it will be half the pts! Atleast I didn't eat too many fries, only 2 orders w/2 adults and 3 kids. then we had Aja's party last night..too busy helping to munch too many ships, so that was good...unfortunately so was my mother-in-laws cooking. I filled my plate...salad, chicken, flank steak, 1/2 twice baked potato, beans, corn relish...14pts, maybe? Then I went back for some of the fruit sald I had made...then dessert, apple crisp, which was not so great actually, so I did not finish it. I had a couple ultra light beers too....I'm thinking yesterday was more than 30 pts, which will not work for loosing so I really need to scale back.
Today (8/21/07): No work out this morning, need to let my body rest, but I am going swimming this afternoon with Aja and the kids. That should be nice and low impact, but still movement. Oatmeal for breakfast, yum...w/soy milk it's about 3 pts. I plan on having a light, protein rich lunch, then I'm going out to dinner with my mom tonight. Don't know where yet, but it will probably be good, so today should be fine. I just need to make sure i get plenty of water and fruits and veggies.
Sorry this was so long winded...but now I'm started and they should not be so crazy.

Bad Food Rising
Last night, I had a couple of bites of fruit and a handful of sunflower seeds (guess that adds a point or two to yesterday's total).
This morning, the same Wheaties breakfast (5 points), and a weigh-in of 226 (no change).
Like Lisa said (below), today will have some very bad food, so I'm hoping to load up on water and veggies until the pastrami sandwiches come...
-----------
10:40--fighting the urge to snack and graze... drinking water instead, but it isn't helping... 11:16--broke down and had a piece of taffy (1)...
-----------
12:30--lunch: sandwich... two slices of wheat bread (2), lite turkey meat (2), slice of chipotle cheese (2), lite salami (1), and a piece of taffy for dessert (1), for a total of 8 points for lunch.
-----------
Dinner: sandwich from Johnny's Pastrami in West LA... we're figuring 20+ points (10 for the bread and cheese, and another 10 for the meat), plus I had some chips as well (2 points worth, I'm sure). So total for the day: 35-ish...
Oh, this is NOT going to be easy...

Lisa: Day 2
I start so many mornings full of resolve. I know that today we will have a bad meal--I'm picking my sisters up at the airport and we are bringing back Johnny's Pastrami with us. So I want to eat a breakfast that will hold me past lunch so that I can have the pastrami for "linner." I am planning on splitting my sandwich with Jack, so that should help also.
I think Joni says that protein helps keep you full, so I will fry an egg in Pam for breakfast. I will stop at Starbucks on my way to LAX to get a latte. I'm worried that my sisters will be hungry and will want to eat something before we leave LA. I'm trying to think of someplace I don't like so I won't eat anything. (Good Luck, with that.) Though I think there's a Robecks near there, so maybe they might want a smoothie... sometimes, is planning too obsesive?
This morning on the scale, I weighed 145.4. Since weve moved, I've stopped weighing myself everyday; I hope that just going back to that routine will help.

Getting Started
Okay, here I am. Lisa, 5 foot 1, 148 pounds. Time to get moving, so I walked today for 30 or so minutes. I truly enjoyed the walk along the beach, but I don't see how once school starts I will be able to do this in the morning. I feel like I mostly had a good day today--2 point yogurt for breakfast--and, surprise!, it held me through to lunch, though I did have a SF NF Vanilla latte for 3 points. Sylvia brought lunch to me from Carl's Jr.--a Santa Fe chicken sandwich (unfortunately, with the cheese that I don't even like. I scrapped some off, but it was still there) for 13 points, and Bill made a delicious salmon dinner with rice and asparagus for 8 points. I drank a delicious cup of cold, non-fat milk for 2 points. All in all, I was disappointed because I felt really good about my food day--I didn't snack AT ALL (okay, I finished a large bag of M & M's, which was like, 15, so I'll count it as 2 points)and I didn't even wish for one, which is not usual for me at work. Anyway, my point total for the day was 30. I suppose 30 is better than what I must have been eating, since I've clearly gained 5 pounds in the last 3 months.
Well, I'm not fat, drunk, AND stupid
BILL: age 44, height 6 foot (more or less), weight 226 pounds
jeez. Still not my peak of 239 which was in December of 2002, but not nearly close enough to my goal of 185 (which I flirted with in June of 2003, just before Lisa's sister's wedding... a weight that was destroyed by a two week driving vacation down the easter seaboard... and through Pennsylvania Dutch country.... mmmm, buttery 3-cheese mac & cheese; and almost WW "lifetime"-ed in June of 2005, just before my first AIDS/LifeCycle ride [just two weeks short of the six]).
Fat. Determined. I think my daily goal is 25 points...
Breakfast: double serving of Wheaties (1.5 cups of cereal, 1 cup of skim milk): 5 pts
------------------------------------
11:30... just came back from a bike ride (first in a couple of weeks): 55min at pretty high intensity... I think that's 9 activity points...
------------------------------------
12:30... lunch. Stir-fried zucchini (0), corn (1... if any), and tofu (2); plus six slices of lean turkey lunch meat (2) and a slice of chipotle cheddar cheese (2); a diet green tea (0), and a piece of salt water taffy (1) for dessert. 7-point lunch. And my stomach feels full... if I can only avoid eating (which I've been doing lately even when my stomach feels full)...
------------------------------------
6:15... dinner. Grilled salmon (a pretty large chunk w/ skin: 6), steamed rice (again, I need to work on portion control: 6), steamed asparagus (0). 12-point dinner. 25 points total for the day (I had a bite/lick/taste in the afternoon... plus some 0 point popcorn)... I'll probably have another b/l/t or piece of candy some time tonight... but given the activity points, I think I'm OK for the day.
I just need to work on portion control...
